Singapore Enterprises Explore Logistics Investment Opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City
4 min read
Nutsales participated in the Singapore–Ho Chi Minh City business exchange, staying ahead of logistics digital transformation trends and the application of AI in transportation management.

On January 21, 2026, a delegation of logistics companies from Singapore met with leaders of Ho Chi Minh City to explore investment opportunities and potential collaboration in logistics infrastructure and services. The discussion highlighted growing momentum in Vietnam’s logistics and supply chain sector as it enters a new phase of development.

The delegation was led by Professor Andrew Chin, Chairman of the S.M.A.R.T Entrepreneurs Club and Lead Faculty of the Global S.M.A.R.T Entrepreneurship Program at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, shared the city’s strategic development direction following the administrative merger of Ho Chi Minh City with Binh Duong and Ba Ria–Vung Tau. The expanded metropolitan area now covers more than 6,772 square kilometers and has a population of over 14 million, reinforcing its role as a key economic and logistics hub.

Logistics Identified as One of Ho Chi Minh City’s Five Strategic Pillars

According to city leadership, Ho Chi Minh City is implementing a development model based on “three zones – one special economic zone – three corridors – five strategic pillars.” Within this framework, logistics—closely linked to seaports, airports, and free trade zones—has been identified as a core strategic pillar.

In particular, the former Ba Ria–Vung Tau area is being positioned as a hub for marine-based economic development, clean energy, and logistics. This orientation is expected to create strong momentum for transportation, warehousing, import–export activities, and supporting logistics services.

The Singapore delegation expressed strong interest in Ho Chi Minh City’s logistics infrastructure development plans, investment attraction policies, and future opportunities for cooperation between Singaporean and Vietnamese enterprises across finance, infrastructure, and logistics sectors.
